Dr. Nikita Lakhani

Dr. Lakhani grew up in San Diego, where she discovered her love of all kinds of animals thanks to the amazing zoos, aquariums, and native wildlife that the area features. She went to Cornell University for her undergraduate, where she spent 4 years as a volunteer-on-call for the school's wildlife hospital. She graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024, where she was president of the Exotic Animal Veterinary Club and earned her Exotic Animal/Zoological Medicine Certificate. She also completed several externships at exotics-only clinics, wildlife hospitals, and zoos prior to coming to us, as well as a research stint in the Galapagos!

Dr. Lakhani hopes to work towards board certification in the coming years. In her free time, she loves exploring new hiking trails, reading, and spending time with her pets - 2 rabbits, 2 frogs, and a cat.
