At Exotic Animal Veterinary Center in Pasadena, CA, we know how deeply families love their exotic pets. When an urgent medical situation happens, the cost of care can place pet owners in an incredibly difficult position. Through our charitable fund with the Veterinary Care Foundation, donations help provide financial assistance for qualifying clients whose pets need urgent, life-saving veterinary care.
Even responsible, loving pet owners can find themselves financially unprepared when a pet needs unexpected treatment. In those moments, families may face heartbreaking decisions if they cannot afford the care their pet needs. Our charitable fund helps bridge that gap for qualifying cases, giving more pets the chance to receive timely care when it matters most.
What Is the Veterinary Care Foundation?
The Veterinary Care Foundation, or VCF, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation created to help veterinary practices provide care for pet owners in financial crisis.
Through this foundation, donations made to our practice’s charitable fund are used to support patients at Exotic Animal Veterinary Center. 100% of donations made to our fund go directly toward helping our patients.
How Does a Pet Qualify for VCF Funds?
VCF funds are reserved for urgent cases where financial assistance may help a pet receive needed care. To qualify:
The case must involve an urgent medical matter
A veterinarian must examine the patient and confirm there is a good prognosis, without fatal injuries or unrecoverable symptoms
The owner must state a financial need
The owner must apply for Cherry, CareCredit, Scratchpay, or AllPet Card first
These guidelines help us use the fund where it can make a meaningful difference for pets and families in crisis.
