Dr. Nikita Lakhani
Veterinarian
Dr. Lakhani grew up in San Diego, where she discovered her love of all kinds of animals thanks to the amazing zoos, aquariums, and native wildlife the area has to offer. She graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned an Exotic Animal/Zoological Medicine Certificate. During her training, she completed several externships at exotics-only clinics, wildlife hospitals, and zoos, as well as a research experience in the Galápagos Islands focused on gathering data for wildlife medicine.
Her professional interests include rabbit and small mammal medicine, surgery, and reptile and amphibian medicine. She is passionate about continuing education and staying current with advancements in exotic animal medicine, and she hopes to pursue board certification in the coming years.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring new hiking trails, reading, and spending time with her pets: two rabbits, two frogs, and a cat. They continue to inspire her passion for veterinary medicine.
